FEES

How much would it cost to send my child(ren) to The River School?
We do not want families to be prevented from sending their children to the River School purely because of family finances. We have tried to establish a just system where families pay what they can, based on a minimum figure, up to a figure which is still modest by independent school standards.

We aim to keep our costs to a minimum in several ways:
• Staff give their services voluntarily, or are paid a salary considerably less than they could expect to receive elsewhere.
• We invite parents and friends to help according to their skills and availability.
• We rely on parental giving and other gifts, both in money and in kind, and try to be ‘good stewards’ of all that we are given.

As a result, the full fee for the academic year 2008-2009 will be either £345 (Senior School) or £325 (Lower School) per month for the first child, and £310.50 (Senior School) or £292.50 (Lower School) for subsequent siblings, paid by standing order on the first day of each month, September to August. For families who would not be able to meet this, we can consider applications to pay a reduced fee, and operate a ‘sliding scale’ for reducing fees according to income and the number of children in the school. In addition to this, we operate a Bursary Fund whereby gifts of money can be allocated to pupils whose circumstances require it, according to availability.

The annual fee is split into 12 equal monthly instalments.
