Peter Read has been a trustee of The River School for several years.

Having worked for the American computer company Hewlett Packard for 20 years, Peter has recently changed jobs within the IT industry. Previous positions include retail management with M&S and various accounting roles within industry.

Peter is married to Rosemary and lives, along with their three children, in Strensham, Worcester. Richard & Christopher completed their GCSE's at the school and Elisabeth is currently in Year 8.  The family attends Pershore Baptist Church, but also supports activities in the local parish and with St. Paul's church in Worcester. Peter and Rosemary met and grew up in Poole, Dorset and became Christians in their teens, being baptised at a local AOG Pentecostal church.

While it started with their own children their vision and passion have grown to see God's greater purpose for Christian education expressed through The River School. One of Peter's themes is to see the school strive for excellence in all areas. In part this is being achieved through applying corporate disciplines and methods, balanced with the experience of the school's educationalists, and put into practical action according to God's will.
